Life science professional totally defeated by the job market here, desperate for advice
Hi all, so I'm not really new to Denmark…relocated here a few years back during covid with my family. I have a bachelor and a master's degree from great universities in the UK, plus about 8 years of academic work experience, one of which was in Denmark. However since I left my last job at the end of 2022, I have tried but failed to secure a new job. I have applied, gone to interviews, joined a union, sought professional career advice…People kept telling me that my CV looks fine and I should find a job but I just never did. Now as my unemployment gap grows longer and longer, I can't help but feel increasingly sad and desperate. I trained long and hard to work in research and truly love what I do, I would love to be working. I have been learning Danish over the last year or so, but it will take a long time until I can be very proficient in it… Should I just give up on my career and find a service industry job? The idea pains me but this unemployment is killing me mentally. Should I do another Master's here? Should I try for a PhD? Or are there some other job hunting methods that are less obvious? If you have any advice I will welcome it. Thank you all in advance!🙏
