31 er+ or- her2- stage IV thinking about stopping chemo

Metastatic to my sternum. I’ve done 4 rounds of AC and now I’m on to Taxol. I did one round of Taxol and it was worse than AC for me. I skipped my second round because I was in terrible shape. The second round has been just as bad. I already have neuropathy in my feet and hands.

We decided to treat my cancer as if it wasn’t in my sternum. I’m thinking about telling my oncologist that I want to stop chemo and move on to surgery and radiation. Do you think they’ll have a good response? It’s one of those things that might seem selfish, but I know my body can’t handle more chemo right now.

Has anyone just taken a break for a couple weeks just to digest?

I want to live, but I want to actually live while living. If that makes sense.
