Episode 4 - A major improvement
I've posted before here on episodes 1 and 2. Recently I watched ep3 and 4 together. And I will say this, overall things are happening - it's an improvement. Nowhere near the feeling of mystery I felt back in s1-3 but it's there.
Nevertheless they really need to stop doing this thing where the characters don't interact with each other just so the plot can move forward. They are indeed interacting more- however just one character doing it is insane and lazy writing.
For example, sarah, why would she not just tell bboyd about how she's getting the voices again? After all that her and bboyd have been through - and the only person she talks to is bloody Elgin? Seriously? And when the girl is pushed all she does is drink the water. Like lady- speak to LITERALLY ANYBODY else- figure something out. There is no reason for her not to go to bboyd and Let. Him. Know.
Tabita continues to be the worst character in fiction- no hate to the actress, she's great. But for a mother to pass off her child's sayings as grief, when jade was more apprehensive to believe ethan than Tabitha, really says a lot about her character. And of course - she refuses to speak about anything. Trying to make selfish and stupid decisions like just walking into the faraway tree.
Ok the positives. I like the victor ethan stuff, I like the victor and his dad stuff. Basically victor stuff. It's great and I love victor. I also like the julie stuff even though I had said I would not enjoy seeing her fail numerous times until we end up seeing the scene we saw in s3's ending, but they're doing a lot more than that so that's fine.
The best thing is that the plot is moving forward, things are happening. And I'm happy. I'm hoping it will get better and better with episode 5 onwards. I'm glad I hadn't watched ep3 alone and rather watch 3 and 4 together because I probably would've been disappointed with ep 3, also it being UNDER 50m.
All the actors are doing amazing jobs for sure.
