Unsupportive Spouse
Actors/actresses how do you deal with an unsupportive partner. About a year ago I quit my corporate job to pursue acting. At the time I was making good money but now things have really slowed down so I got a job as a server to try and keep myself afloat. My partner is constantly telling me that “someone has to be the bad guy” and give me a reality check that I essentially won’t actually have an acting career because it’s near impossible. I obviously being an educated person know the statistics and don’t need to be reminded of this constantly. He also told me I’m “regressing” because I quit my job to pursue acting. When I’m acting I feel so happy and it’s something that I love to do.
I don’t know how to live or deal with someone who is constantly so unsupportive and making me feel horrible and stupid since I’m trying to pursue my dreams. Has anyone else gone through this?
