Bristol VS Warwick

Please help me decide: undergrad 5 year of medicine at Bristol VS GEM at Warwick.

I am born and raised in Bristol and did my undergrad there so financially it’s make more sense to study there again.

However, GEM Warwick is one less year and I have a cousin who lives within a 30 minute commute of the campus that would rent their spare room for a small fee.

Education wise and long term career wise which is better?
Workload structure, social life, placement structure, amount of support available any pros or cons for either to help me decide would be greatly appreciated😁

Med timetable

Hi,

Bit of a weird request but Is there anyone that is willingly to share (privately or on here) what their first/ second year medical school timetable was like. I am an incoming mature medical student and I wanna know what the weekly scheduling is like, estimated finish times/ day off, so that I can arrange my shifts ahead of time and figure out how much I’ll be able to work. Unfortunately uni timetables get sent notoriously late and if I wanna survive financially I need to arrange my work patterns in advance.

Second thoughts about studying medicine

A questions for any doctors, current medical students: how do you overcome imposter syndrome and self doubt?

I have little to no support system when it comes to studying medicine as a 24F, especially as I can from a background where education is not as prioritised for women unfortunately. I have already got a previous degree in healthcare, and I have been wanting to pursue medicine for as long as I’ve remembered however my self doubt has always made me back out last minute.

Given the current NHS climate, the poor pay, the poor treatment for junior doctors, the lack of training positions, I can’t help but think I’m making a huge mistake studying medicine. That I’ll essentially be wasting my 20s. But I can’t see myself doing anything else and I know that sounds cliche 😭.

Obviously no one but me can make that decision for me, but is anyone able to offer any insight on if they’ve struggled with self doubt and how they’ve overcome it?

Any advice regardless of how brutal or heartless it seems will be greatly appreciated.
