Does anyone experience much worse pain after light massages?
I've been experiencing a lot of pain throughout my neck and down my shoulder blades lately. I've been surviving fibromyalgia for many years. Throughout this I've learnt through trial and error how to massage my tense muscles without triggering more intense pain.
Im aware that the spine is sensitive, so when I gently massaged my shoulders, I was extra gentle.
I woke up with horrible pain in my neck, in the area where the cervical vertebrates end and the thoracic vertebrates start. It happens every fucking time.
Every. Single. Fucking. Time. I find it fucking crazy that I can't gently massage my muscles in my fucking shoulder without waking up feeling like I slipped a spinal disc in my upper spine. This happens with every muscle around my body i have pain in, to a much lesser extent. This shit around my spine? Excruciating. People make me feel bad for not "taking care of myself" and getting massages but any kind of massage always makes things worse.
Have any ove you experienced this? Do you have recommendations? Idk what to do ): i guess I can live with it but it'd be nice to hear from anyone who's even sort of found a way around this ):
