Hi! I just finished my first overshot piece and can’t help but notice that the tabby picks seem very prominent. In the images I’ve seen, the pattern weft almost completely obscures the tabby ground.

- Tabby: similar to a 16/2 linen
- Pattern weft: similar to a sock weight wool (approximately 2-3x the size of the tabby)
- Sett: 16 picks per inch

I thought the issue might be one of the following, but would appreciate any advice! Perhaps it’s something completely different.
- Pattern weft yarn was not thick enough
- Didn’t beat hard enough for the tabby (though I did a pretty firm double beat)
- The wrong (too thick) tabby yarn
