Hey everyone,
I recently got into vintage lenses and absolutely love the rendering of my Leica R 50mm. The colors, micro-contrast and overall “feel” just hit different compared to modern glass.
Now I’m looking to expand into wide angle, but Leica R wides are quite expensive.
I’m mainly shooting on full frame (Sony), adapting manual lenses.
What I’m looking for:
Affordable (ideally <300–400 CHF)
Interesting rendering / character (not clinically perfect)
Good build and focusing feel (important to me)
I don’t necessarily need ultra fast apertures. I’m totally fine with f/3.5–f/4 if the lens has character.
I’ve seen some mentions of Takumar 28mm f/3.5, Minolta Rokkor lenses and Flektogon – but I’d love to hear your personal favourites.
Are there any hidden gems you’d recommend that come close to that Leica rendering?
Thanks a lot!
