Masterworks is ending its secondary trading platform December 14. What exactly replaces it?

Masterworks’ SEC filings say it gave North Capital notice to terminate its PPEX secondary trading arrangement effective on or about December 14, 2026. After that, investors will no longer be able to buy or sell shares through that venue.

The filings mention a replacement bulletin board or other liquidity mechanism, but do not guarantee it will be available when the existing platform closes. The October 5 offering circular says the proposed bulletin board will not match buy and sell orders and expects extremely low transaction volume.

Could u/Masterworksio provide a concrete update?

Will the replacement be operational by December 14, or should investors expect a gap?

Will we still be able to browse prices and buy or sell specific paintings, rather than only artist-level exposure?

Will transactions require consultation calls, or can investors complete them online?

How will negotiation, payment and share transfers work?

Why is the current ATS arrangement being terminated?

I understand these are illiquid investments and nobody can guarantee a buyer. But there’s a meaningful difference between limited trading liquidity and an undefined replacement for the existing platform.

With roughly ten weeks until the planned shutdown, shareholders should have enough detail to make informed decisions.

Has anyone received a clearer explanation from the company?
