Found Mold all over living room ceiling and growing on my son’s high chair, musty vents Lease breaking advice

Title says it all. Lots of mold found on living room ceiling, also fuzzy mold growing on my son’s high chair. Musty smell and mold spots on vents. I believe it is in the HVAC system, not from a leak. We sneeze a lot.

2 months left on lease. Notified management and they had no empathy or concern, I told them I was moving out asap like within a matter of days and breaking my lease. They said “you did not give us 60 days notice so you will be responsible for lease breaking fee on top of the 2 months rent plus any additional fees you may incur”. Sounds like they are getting ready to bill me thousands! I don’t feel like paying another dime. I notified them of dark edges on vents I suspected were mold back in January and maintenance came and told me it was dirt/dust. There have been other issues like tobacco and marijuana smoke seeping in through the vents from neighboring apartments. I am getting the hell out of here!

Funny enough, I found another apartment, a new build but when I went to go look a the only unit available on the first floor as I had requested, there was a huge puddle from recent heavy rains on the concrete entrance leading right up to the door and wall of the apartment. The leasing agent assured me management had looked it over and said it was not entering the apartment but I could see a gap between the sidewalk and where the outside wall to the apartment was. Should I take this unit or request a second floor one that does not have a huge puddle of water leading up to the entrance? Advice needed on both issues.

Recent Tinting experience XC90

Last week I bought a 2018 XC90 T6 with 91k miles on it for 17k out the door from a Land Rover dealership that got it as a trade in. I noticed because it only had factory tint on the rear windows and a panoramic sunroof the car got really hot while sitting so I went to get the front windshield, drivers and passenger, sun roof and the back passenger side only where my infant sun sits tinted. I went to Tint World, a reputable tint shop with many good reviews.

The next day I noticed two unsightly water stains on each side of the sunroof up at the front. I 100% know they were not there before and the sunroof is not leaking as I literally bought the car the day before from a very good dealership who did a pre-purchase inspection.

I went back to Tint World, very upset they had damaged the upholstery on my new vehicle. I read this can happen as tinting requires a lot of water and if not taped off properly can stain the moonroof cover. the owner came out with a cheap can of upholstery cleaner and dabbed at the stains, telling me that they would be gone when it dried. I asked for $50 refund after paying almost $700 and he acted very put out, saying “Let’s not make this a bigger deal than it has to be” and insinuating the stains where there before. He then told me that if he gave me the $50 refund “I was not allowed to come back and complain.

Well, the stains remained. I did go back and said I refused to be bullied about this. I got a quote from a professional detail shop for $100. All I asked was to be refunded an additional $50 to detail the sunroof. I had written a negative 1 star review and the owner blew up in my face about it, saying I was dishonest, that he didn’t believe the stains were still there but he refused to go out and look at them, so I showed him a picture. He threatened to call the police on me if I did not leave! I was practically in tears and shaking.

I stood my ground and again asked to be refunded to cover the detail to which he agreed and then told me I would “have to remove the review“ in exchange for the refund. to which I agreed. This is a corporate store that I guess he is the franchise owner of. What would you have done on this situation? I told him he would have been upset as well if the upholstery had been damaged in his new car. This is the nicest most expensive car I have ever owned! I am still in shock about his reaction to this.
