Settling time in China
Hello everyone!
I’m about to move to China, Hangzhou city soon and would really appreciate some advice from those who have experience living there.
My school mentioned that relocation costs will be reimbursed later, so I’ll need to cover my initial expenses myself. I’m trying to figure out how much money I should realistically bring to settle in comfortably.
I’m planning to rent an apartment in the range of 4000–5000 RMB per month. Does that sound reasonable? Also, how long does it usually take to find a place and sign a contract after arriving?
On top of that, I’d love to get a rough idea of monthly living costs - especially food, transportation, and other daily expenses.
Any insights, tips, or personal experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
