It's April 29 in Korea, five years to the day since the disbandment of IZ*ONE.
I'm interested in hearing anyone's thoughts about the group's legacy five years on, their lasting impact on K-pop, etc. Or just sharing what you loved or appreciated most about them as a group, favorite izone moments, etc.
It's wonderful to see all the girls still thriving in their careers:
*Yujin and Wonyoung in IVE
*Chaewon and Sakura in LE SSERAFIM
*Hitomi in Say My Name
*Eunbi, Yuri, Yena, and Chaeyeon solo artists
*Nako, Minju, and Hyewon acting and/or modeling
Like any wizone, I'm happy and excited to see the girls all doing so well. But of course there's a part of me that will always miss the special thing they were as a group. Looks like IOI is having a reunion/comeback soon, who knows maybe the same can happen in a couple more years with izone. At least I can put on my clown suit and hope, right?
Izone are my ults but ironically I got into kpop just about exactly five years ago at this time (I think you can do the math). It took me another year before izone rose to that level in my heart, but they've never left it since. I don't know if anyone can ever outshine them in my eyes. Such an amazing, dazzling, wonderful group. There will never be another like them.
At least we had the good fortune to live in the same time period when izone existed. To me, they were as temporary as they are eternal.
Like Nako once said: "IZONE is IZONE. Even though we're not active right now, the group itself is still here, its existence is always here."
