So in season 1 Nolan and Lucy cant be together because they are cops. So they evidently break up so she doesnt get a rep. Keep in mind he's her equal they are both rookies. But shes allowed to date Tim while hes both also a cop PLUS her superior in the first half of their relationship before the break up. They get back together when they are equals but overall all three are cops. Make it make sense.

Ultimately I agree that Nolan and Bailey

Tim and Lucy are the better matches but doesnt change my point. We're they just hoping people wouldnt remember the first season or did they not consider people like to rewatch shows
