How to fix the damaged floorboards?
Hi everyone,
I recently moved into a 1950s house. The floors are surprisingly level with no major cracks, except for a few damaged boards.
There are splits/cracks. When stepped on, the damaged area has a slight bit of flex/sinking feel (just the board itself, not the joist underneath).
The boards are roughly 20mm thick and measure about 120mm wide on top (pics attached). Having trouble finding an exact off the shelf size match for a DIY patch.
What’s the cheapest way to stabilise this? Can I just use a heavy duty filler for the gaps and coat it with oil based floor paint, or is there a better budget DIY method?
