Advice on how to control the gunk!
Hey everyone
Long time fish keeper; first time dealing with cichlid planted tank.
My background plants and anubias are great. Ferns are lacking.
More importantly, there is just so much gunk in the tank! No matter how many water changes I do (where I specifically try to clean up the gunk off the hardscape and plants), it comes back very quickly. I know cichlids are messy eaters, but is that just… a reality of this tank?
Also, the heavy algae on the hardscape (I forget the name, but where it’s like hair) is uncontrollable really. And I can’t keep any snails or cleaner fish because of the Oscar and Acras.
Any tips on how to keep the tank looking cleaner?
