Hiya! So for context I have PCOS, am 22 female and have hormonal acne. I have horrible big pores on my cheeks and nose and red scarring (like broken blood vessles) from over the years of acne. Basically my skin looks like a old mans skin lol rip. Currently my acne is mild due to my meds. I take birth control and use Duac cream every night. I know duac is meant to be a short term thing but the minute I stop using it my acne comes back and for now my doc agreed its fine to use all the time. I do not want too + can't take acne pills due to my stomach problems.
My skincare routine is a bit all over the place as I always buy products and now am trying to use them up but I think the overloading of stuff is making my skin worse haha.
AM:
- Oily skin face wipes (primark)
- Garnier miceller gel charcoal
- Tea tree (tzone) or glycolic acid toner (depends, usually the tea tree though)
- Ceramide serum (simple) then vitamin c serum for eyes
- Derma clear spot cream where spots are worst
- Garnier charcoal moisteriser
- Dark spot spf
PM:
- Derma clear face wash then aveeno face wash
- Duac cream
I wish I could use moisteriser in the PM but you arent meant to use anything with the duac cream. (Does anyone have any tricks or idk ways to use it with the cream though?) I do occasionally use the primark spf moisteriser during the day but its SUPER oily. Thats why I like the garnier charcoal one, its mattifying. I think I am stripping my skin too much but its the only thing that makes my skin feel less oily. I would just love a more simple routine + product reccomendations that fit around the duac cream and my skin troubles. Ideally not super expensive. I find the derma clear spot cream doesn't do anything tbf, nor do any spot patches I have ever tried. I haven't tried star face though and am tempted to try them. Thank you!
