I did it. Finished the Milton Keynes marathon today and my goal was to go under 4:00 and I did 3:51, so I'm very pleased with that.
I just read a post about how nothing prepares you for the last 10k and I totally agree as a first timer. It was so tough. I'm not ashamed to say that I walk parts of the last 4-5 miles. I went out a bit fast and ran too quick for a few of my first 7 miles and I feel like a should've been more disciplined. But, and it's a big but, I am very happy and it's all a learning process.
Jury's out on doing another lol.
