Is this a normal reflection, damage, or oil slick?
So my fiancée just proposed less than a week ago, and I’m loving my ring so far. I’ve been wearing it carefully, keeping it on a thin necklace chain while I’m at work and making sure to take it off when I put any moisture on my hands. Since day one, it’s had this purple reflection on the table in very specific angles but I figured that was pretty normal. However, the purple reflection is now getting these strange orange lines running through it as well. I took the first picture after soaking it in dawn soap for a few minutes and gently scrubbing with an electric toothbrush, which did nothing. I took a picture showing the reflection I’m talking about and am putting some others to show that it’s only like that in very specific angles. The stone looks very clean, so I’m confused. Am I doing something wrong and damaging my stone, or is this normal? I don’t think it’s oil slick because 1. It’s so new and 2. I attempted to clean it already, but this is my first moissanite so I don’t know the difference.
Also, it’s hard to see the orange lines that I’m referring to, but that squiggle on the bottom part of the reflection is one of them- that’s my biggest concern, and what inspired me to post. What the heck is that?
