So this just started happening on my Pit Boss Pellet smoker last time I used it. The model is PB850 PS2
I turn it on and the temp is already reading 178 degrees, meanwhile its about 60 degrees outside.
This is affecting my ability to get the grill hot. This means I have to turn it to about 500 (max setting) to get it to about 320-350. It does not seem to be a linear curve.
I just deep cleaned the grill, including the temperature probe inside the grill and its still happening. The meat probe is reading correctly so I can see what the actual temp is but that does not fix the issue of having to set it to 500 to get it to up to temps I want to use for chicken legs and wings. If I wanted to sear a steak I might have other problems.
I'm afraid its going to get worse and then setting it to 500 won't even get to 300.
Any advice? I tried a brief search of the forum but didn't see anything after a few minutes. I'll search again.
