Hi everyone I recently posted about the error with root patching when trying to install sequoia. I realized my disc was partitioned so all hope was not lost I still have the other part of my disc which is still OS Monterey.

Now my question here is would it be a good idea to try to install a later version than Monterey but previous to sequoia since it didn’t work out with sequoia. And if so would I be able to do so on the partition that I was trying to install sequoia on? Or maybe just delete the partition and start fresh? Sorry I didn’t use the search function because this is such a specific situation and I have many questions but thanks for all your responses and patience. 🙏🏻

2015 iMac btw

I updated to Tahoe, and when I restarted at the end of the update process, it only showed other partitions and none of them had what I had on the partition I had that I updated. I don’t have the best understanding of how OCLP works but, is there any way to get that data back I have a game emulation app and was in the middle of a game. Also had FL Studio and a bunch of music I made. I’m so sad and pissed because I didn’t even need the update I just kept getting notifications that an update was available. Pls help 😭. Also I didn’t even need the update the computer was running fine.
