Collier Preserve 'Storybook Trail' by library in Powell

Just thought I would share this in case it could help keep someone safe. So on the story book trail by the library there's a short off-shoot that leads closer to the creek, there is a fallen tree at the end of it and it was covered in huge honeybees. At least I think they were honeybees, I moved my dog away quickly. I probably saw at least 100 bees, there's probably many more. I'm lucky I noticed them before my dog got too close. I didn't think to snap a picture but I posted a map of the trail with a red mark where the bees are. So if you're planning to go out there just be mindful of that area, especially if you have dogs or small children.

Hellbenders

We love finding creatures in local streams, normally we go up to Clear Creek (our favorite area is the hike behind the Grist Mill but before where the water runs over the road) in Norris or to the creek by the old mill in Big Ridge. We find frogs, crawfish, all different types of salamanders. Is there anywhere nearby that we could potentially find a hellbender? I know there's no guarantee that we could find one, and this is really for looking only, we will not be disturbing it. We are very careful with all wildlife we find. With all that in mind, can anyone point me in the right direction? Has anyone seen one themselves? Was it amazing?

Anyone know where to find POG juice?

I've looked in several stores and haven't found it. I've found similar (mango orange guava for example), but really want passion orange guava specifically. I've checked Kroger, Ingles, Food City all in Powell. Ingles, Food City, and Walmart in Clinton. I think I checked Oak Ridge Walmart and can't remember if I checked Whole Foods or not, and I know I've checked a few other random places without success. So, has anyone seen POG juice at any stores? Preferably north Knox or Anderson County, but I'm willing to drive for it, it really is the most incredible juice I've ever had

Boat Rental Norris Lake

Any recommendations for where to rent a boat on Norris Lake, specifically a pontoon with a slide? We'd prefer either Anderson or Union County (Andersonville area or Maynardville area). I looked at Sequoyah Marina already but would like to compare

Found in east Tennessee

Found these in Knox County, right near a rabbit nest. All the baby rabbits are now gone, so I'm assuming these feathers are from the animal who made a meal of them. The rabbits were mostly taken either over night or early morning. My main guess is red tailed hawk (we have one that frequents our area) or some kind of owl. Owl i was thinking because it does seem that the rabbits went missing one by one over night. I found a different feather each time a rabbit went missing. When I let my dog out at 5 am we found one faceless rabbit kit and fresh blood not far from the nest. Edit to add: we know we can't keep the feathers, they will be put back outside after all my family gets to see them tonight

Rabbit update

So all rehabilitations are currently at capacity with rabbit kits, especially if their eyes aren't even opened (odds of survival are not in their favor. ) So whatever happens happens now. But they've grown, their eyes are still closed but they have fur, and unfortunately when they hear my dog they crawl out of the nest and try to go to him. Here's a fuzzy baby trying to visit with my dog. He is very happy about it, I am less than happy.

Wild rabbits

We have some very young rabbit kits in an extremely poorly placed nest. Between the 4ft rat snake that lives 3 feet from the nest, the complete lack of anywhere for the kits to hide once they start hopping, my son's outdoor toy chest being 2 feet from the nest, it being right next to /center of where we do most outdoor activities (catch, Frisbee, where the hose spigot is, etc), and it being the area that my German Shepherd/husky plays/trains with my neighbor's GSD I'm very concerned that the mother rabbit is going to abandon her babies. She was interrupted trying to feed them this morning already, and I removed the snake from almost getting the bunnies twice already, honestly he may have already gotten one or 2. I have a little fencing in front of it so my dog leaves the actual nest alone, but once they start hopping around at all and leaving the nest I can't help them. With it being such a highly trafficked area I really believe that the mother will give up eventually. This morning she left them uncovered because she was nursing them when we let our dog out (he has a stomach issue currently, so he went out about 5 times throughout the night, and we aren't walking him right now because no one wants dog diarrhea in their yard). I think she made her nest there because we were away for a week, so she didn't realize how active the area was with humans and dogs. So, can I relocate them (I would bring all the mulch and leaves she used to make the nest). There's an area about 10 feet away that is outside the fence and has a lot of bush coverage to give the kits someplace safer to hide, and hopefully they won't go into the fenced area once they start hopping. Or is there a local rescue that would take the babies? I know it's best to leave wildlife alone, but I would really rather not pull a baby rabbit out of my dog's mouth if I can avoid it. Maybe wait and see if the mother does come back this evening first?

Best friends

Mine is the mostly black dog who's belly up half the video. My male dog loves to play with my neighbor's female. He's larger and significantly faster but he is such a gentleman, he let's her catch him and he rolls around. When they run she can't keep up and will try to cut him off by taking short cuts, he jumps over her and she'll get so confused. I love watching them together, nothing but good dog vibes

So they're searching for this guy in the Oak Ridge area, but why is he green? His arm isn't green.

I've been seeing all the stuff about predators in game, but personally haven't seen anything really concerning. There's no private chat is there? Anytime I start a lobby I report inappropriate usernames and then ban them. The chat is usually people talking about the game, if anyone gets really messy I report then ban them. Have I just been lucky to miss the really nefarious stuff, or is there a feature that I'm missing? I play with my 10 year old, I only let him play with me so I can monitor what he's seeing, if things get nasty we leave the lobby, though I've only had to do that like twice. We love playing together, but if there really is so much bad stuff going on then I'll find another game to play with him.
