Thinking about restarting my locs

Looking for guidance on the loc journey and knowing when to call it quits (or stick it out…?). For context, I have very thick and dense 3b-4b/c hair, i’ve had my locs for about 1 year and 5 ish months, and i have around 250 locs. I usually get reties every 2 months with a 4 point rotation. My locs were established by an old school sisterloctician (also my mom’s loctician), although not super traditional looking because the parts were more so sized to my hair thickness. In the beginning of my loc journey, I thought this was fine for me because personally I wanted them to be on the thicker side while still having a smaller loc size for versatility. However as I get further along in my journey i’m doubting they will ever get thicker or look more voluminous as someone who reallllly loves big hair, and i’m still not fully in love with them. Originally I was considering getting small traditional locs, but because my mom has sisterlocs I adore I thought I would appreciate the smaller size for more versatility in styling. Honestly i’ve seen a lot of different loc sizes i liked on different people and really had a hard time making a decision. At this point i’m unsure how to proceed especially because when I see people talk about their locs it’s usually always how much they love them, and right now I just don’t feel that way. Don’t get me wrong, I have moments when I think they look good but sometimes I wish they looked different. I’ve heard talks of people combining their locs but i’ve also heard that for some it’s not realistic and ultimately damages the structure of the loc. I’ve also been thinking about just combing them out and starting over, or waiting until the 2 year mark to make a better assessment. TLDR; would it be worth waiting to see if they might thicken up a bit or look more full as they drop, or would I waste more time waiting? 1st pic is around the 5th month mark, last picture is what they look like currently. Any advice is welcomed beautiful people :)
