Hi everyone, this is actually my first time using Reddit, so sorry if I’m doing something wrong or posting in the wrong place.

I recently started looking into studying medicine in the Czech Republic, especially at Charles University, and I wanted to ask for some guidance from people who have experience with this.

My situation is:

  • I finished high school in 2025 (non-European system)
  • I have czech/EU citizenship.
  • I’m thinking about taking some time (maybe a year) to properly learn Czech before applying
  • My goal is to study General Medicine

I don’t really know anyone who has gone through this process, so I’m trying to understand how things actually work beyond the official information.

I would really appreciate advice specifically from people who were in a similar situation (expats or people who studied abroad and then applied to Czech medical schools), especially about:

  • The exact step-by-step process you followed to get accepted (from finishing high school to enrollment)
  • How you prepared for the entrance exam.
  • What you would say is absolutely essential to do right if someone wants to successfully get in and not waste time or make mistakes

Any help or guidance would mean a lot. Thanks for your patience 🙏
