Womens' Underrepresentation in Self Improvement Media

I don't mean this in any sexist way. I simply want to have an open discussion about an area of underrepresentation in womens' media. I have interviewed several women in my personal life and they've all given me similar responses. I've been wanting to watch some self improvement movies or shows that includes a female main character that goes on an arc of being immoral or lacking virtue in some way and trying their best to overcome this. When I asked around, specifically from my sister and girlfriend, they couldn't think of any. I asked them what inspires them to want to be better as people, some kind of media or idea. They struggled a bit. I'm still looking for that media if anyone knows. There is something like that out there. I just can't find it. I know this is all very scatter-brained. What I'm really trying to get at is that it shouldn't be this difficult. I can list 15 men who go on that arc but I can't think of any women. Obviously women can be inspired by those male characters as well but it seems strange a better effort hasn't been made to make those characters. Surely that's what women want to see, no? Everyone enjoys self-improvement. You don't need a woman to inspire you as a woman but I can see it helping. Why do you guys think this is? And can you help list off any good female characters that go on this arc?
