Debt

Probably such a dumb question, but how does everyone deal with the idea of debt. I’m the first in family to pursue higher education. I think I’m personally okay with taking on the debt of a post bacc then med school. I have PI advisors who reccomended the fastest track as possible which means taking out debt to do an accelerated post bacc. This probably is a dumb question but what is the reality of being like $200,000 vs $240,00 in debt? I am so sure that this is the career I want for myself but I feel like I have no one impartial to advise me and I’m so worried of making a mistake. I have two post bacc offers, one that’s two years but free and one that’s 1 year but 40k. The 1 year links to a better schoo. I just want to be done as soon as possible.
