Hi, recently tried playing pickleball after 6-8 years of no activity. I used to be okayish at tennis in highschool (super in texas usta). I used to play with a bit more extreme version of a western grip, and hit with lots of topspin.
I'm not sure if it's just that I have not played tennis in such a long time, but when I try to hit a forehand drive, I feel like the pickleball just slips off the paddle and doesn't even make it to the net. Anyone else have this issue, or do I just suck lmao.
I hear a lot about how tennis players have an easy time transitioning to pickleball, but I literally can't hit a forehand at all, sometimes I get lucky and it barely goes over the net.
I'm asking because I feel really bad making so many unforced errors in rec play with random partners and I feel like it looks like I'm just trolling but I just literally can't hit it over the net unless I switch to a continental grip and just slice everything.
