This is going to be a vent so if you don’t care to hear, feel free to scroll.
I just don’t get it. I passed the background check, have substitute teaching credentials, a bachelors degree in biology, got approved for the subjects I wanted to teach (biology, chemistry, math), made a detailed profile, wrote a paragraphs of text for the bio section… and got rejected because of not meeting the “vetting” process? When I called them they explained that it was due to my biography section but it doesn’t make sense to me because I thought my bio was pretty solid. I wrote about how I would teach, put my credentials, and answered their prompt. I even got accepted into an Ivy League masters which I listed elsewhere on the application(which I know that doesn’t automatically mean I get in) but c’mon?
I have a real passion for helping students and teaching and really thought I was a great fit. I guess getting accepted is hard but if they are going largely based on person’s bio, that is absolutely bonkers. My stats and grades are highly qualifying but they did not ask about my grades or gpa elsewhere in the application so I obviously didn’t include it but I totally would have. I really think my rejection was a misunderstanding but okay… I don’t know who sits on the admissions team or content review team for Wyzant but I really hope they do better because people deserve better people evaluating their applications. Also not trying to come for anyone who got accepted into Wyzant as a tutor- congrats to you. I just wanted to vent about this.
TDLR: just venting about my Wyzant application being rejected.
