Recently started a civil engineer role for my city (mid-size west coast).

My team is full of negative energy. People openly talk shit about others (both on our team and in other departments) in the cubicle area using specific names. People are always complaining about their roles and how they have to do everyone else's work for them.

In all my previous roles (both public and private) there was a real sense of camaraderie. Not everyone was best friends, and of course there were complaints / difficult people, but the energy was still good overall.

It’s truly my dream job and I’m loving the work, but the people can suck the soul out of the office sometimes.

Idk, not asking for a solution, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
