Does anyone have experience using solar generators as backup power?
Lately I’ve been seriously thinking about using a solar generator as a backup power setup for the house, mostly because utility costs where I live keep getting more expensive and has been $300+ EVERY month (I have 1 refrigerator which runs 24*7, 1 AC which runs for almost 4-8 hrs daily and 1 EVs which charge overnight 3 times a week).
I bought this 1,700 sq ft house back in 2019, and the combination of higher energy costs plus occasional outages has started making me understand why so many homeowners keep backup power systems.
I see my neighbor is using Jackery, but I haven't received any feedback from him yet, and think whether some kind of battery backup or solar generator setup would actually make financial sense long term, not just for emergencies but maybe also for reducing grid dependence a little. Has anyone used them?
