If PH Had JP-Level Trains Everywhere… Would You Even Own a Car Anymore?
Serious question for PH motorists.
If the Philippines suddenly had a rail system like Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, or Taipei not just in Metro Manila but also in major cities and even key provincial routes what would you actually do with your current vehicle?
Right now kasi most of us treat cars and motorcycles as daily survival tools. Pang work, pang errands, pang pamilya & pang emergency. But in a rail-first setup where trains are fast, frequent, safe and connected to almost everything, would your car become weekend-only gamit? backup for emergencies? or totally optional na lang?
Same question for your driver’s license. If you no longer need to drive daily would you still renew it just for identity/backup or would it slowly become irrelevant like an unused membership card?
Also curious. Would you actually be willing to downsize to just one vehicle per household or even none at all if rail + buses were reliable enough? Or would you still keep your car *just in case* kahit mas mahal long-term?
