Hey everyone,
I’m currently in the rabbit hole of finding my perfect gravel rig and could use some expert opinions. I’m a bit of a "geometric outlier" and have some very specific requirements.
The Rider Profile:
• Height: 190 cm (6’3”)
• Proportions: Long torso (65 cm). I think I need a long reach to feel comfortable.
• Usage: 40% Road (I like to go fast, in future with a second wheelset ) / 60% Gravel.
The "Must-Haves":
- Clean Integration: Not Fully hidden cables. I like the Cervelo solution, clean but still diy-able.
- Mounts: I need a dedicated Bento Box mount (top tube) and enough mounting points for "light" bikepacking (fork mounts preferred).
- Optional: Internal frame storage (downtube) would be the cherry on top.
The Benchmark:
I absolutely love the spirit and the "Long & Low" geometry of the Cervélo Áspero. It fits my torso like a glove, but it's a bit "naked" (no internal storage, few mounts). It’s on sale atm with the grx 820 for 2900€. Size 58?
For those of you with a long torso which bike would you choose? Is there a "hidden gem" in the China frame world that nails the Threaded BB + Integrated Look + Mounts combo?
Budget is around €3,500 ($3,800).
Looking forward to your thoughts! Cheers.
