F1/FP1 WFM01/01 IAL answers
was very hard compared to papers jan 24-jan 26, id expect around 60 for an A
Q1.
dont remember c
k=20.4
inverse was 1/10k-204 and then the changed c
Q2.
focus (5/2,0) diretrix x=-5/2
points where (35/2, 5 root 7) (35/2, -5 root 7)
Q3.
a+b=1/2 ap=3/2
a^3 + b^3 = -15/6 or divided by 4 i dont remember
32x^2 + 230x + 575 = 0
Q4. i dont remember
Q5.
proved within the intervals
the interval bisection was [5.05, 5.075]
f prime x = 1/10 -3/2 x^1/2 + 4x^-1/2 + 8x^-3/2
estimate for beta was i think 3.324 or something along those lines
Q6.
other root was 1-4i
z^2 - 2z + 17
factoriised form f(z)= (z^2 - 2z + 17)(3z-2)(4z+9)
A = - 5 B = 148 C = 359
argand diagram had points 1+4i 1-4i 2/3 and -9/4
Q7.
first was a strech of scale factor of 3 parralel to y axis
second was (0, -1) for top row and (-1, 0) bottom row
product was (0, -3) and bottom row (-1, 0)
last part was insane by the way, had to derive my own area of a hexagon which turned out to be wrong, so i think ill get 1-2 marks but the answer was 1.96
Q8.
indcution dont really know hot explain but f(k) was factorisable in f(k+1) with a 5(2 to the power of 2k)
Q9
first proof was explanatory
could not prove second, anyone did it? i plugged in point so got 1
last one was 10 got it wrong tho
