ISO resources for a low income individual

I met an elderly man this morning who is really down on his luck. I’m trying to help connect him with some resources. He’s assisted by the VA and currently living in section 8 housing but may be evicted. He also just lost his dog and was telling me he’s having SI :( I gave him the crisis hotline number as well as information for a local mental health crisis center he can use. If he’s evicted, he would need help with arranging pick up for furniture donations- which would need to be at no cost and there is a lot of furniture. Does anyone have any resources in mind that could be helpful for someone like this? I’m feeling so awful for him and just want to try to be helpful in a way I can be. TIA
