Msc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Hey everyone 🙂

I was recently admitted to the MSc in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Nova SBE, and I’m currently trying to decide whether to pursue it instead of continuing with a traditional medical master’s path.

My background is in medicine (Bachelor of Medicine), but I’ve become really fascinated by innovation, startups, entrepreneurship, and building things myself. I already have some experience in that space, which is why this program caught my attention so much.

I’d love to hear honest opinions or experiences from people who did the master or know the program well.

Some things I’m especially curious about:

- How did you experience the master overall?
- How good was the teaching quality?
- How practical/applied is the program?
- Is it mostly lectures, or more seminars, projects, group work, independent work, etc.?
- What’s the vibe among students — are people genuinely motivated and engaged?
- What do you feel the master actually gave you personally/professionally?
- What was your motivation for choosing this master in the first place?
- And how is life outside university? Student life, housing, social life, free time, Lisbon experience, etc.

I’m mainly trying to build a realistic picture of the program. On paper it sounds incredibly exciting to me, and I genuinely feel very drawn toward this field and the idea of creating something myself one day.

At the same time, I’m still a bit torn between going deeper into medicine versus moving more toward innovation/business/entrepreneurship 😅

Would really appreciate any thoughts, experiences, advice, or things you think are important to know about the program!
