I have reached week one of my California natives yard transformation and as I went to use the drip for the first time… there was a huge leak / the tubing popped off 🫠 maybe hand watering the yard won’t be so bad after all lol

Also a lot of my plants seem a little “scorched” already, could that be from the body of water reflecting the light/heat onto my plants? Maybe it’s just because they’re on a south facing slope so they are getting some pretty strong sunlight.. I hope they are able to adjust.

Just finished the long grueling job of removing English ivy from the slope in my backyard (with some help from a landscaper) and replacing the yard with California native plants. I’m looking forward to seeing these lil 1 gallon plants spread and take over parts of the slope! Please let me know if you guys have any tips or tricks during establishment or in general. Thanks! :)

Edit: Since taking the photo, I have pushed the wood chips away from the stems of the plants as the landscaper is the one who placed it throughout.
