80s/90s foam puzzle toy from chocolate bars (France)
Hi everyone!
I’ve been searching for this object for YEARS and I’m starting to wonder if I imagined it 😄
This was in France in the late 80s / early 90s.
Inside certain chocolate bars/tablets (possibly Lindt, Milka, Nestlé… not sure), there were foam puzzle toys included as promotional gifts.
What I remember:
they were flat rectangular foam plates about the size of a chocolate bar,
made of fairly rigid colored foam,
the pieces were pre-cut and you had to pop them out,
different colors represented difficulty levels (I especially remember blue, red and purple/violet),
the pieces had slots/slits and interlocked together in 3D,
you could build a cube,
and I think there were also multiple other shapes possible.
It was NOT a Kinder Surprise toy.
It was more like a “brain teaser” / 3D construction puzzle.
I already looked into:
Soma Cubes,
Pentominoes,
tangram-style puzzles,
and it looked very similar in concept, but I still can’t find the exact product or promotion.
Does anyone remember these?
Even a vague memory, a brand name, a photo, or an old advertisement would help a lot 😄
