To buy now (on sale) or wait for the Definitive Edition? (Huge CRPG fan with limited time)
Hi everyone,
As a massive CRPG fan (I love Tyranny, Pillars of Eternity, Baldur's Gate, Divinity: Original Sin, etc.), I’ve been holding off on Rogue Trader. My original plan was to wait for the Definitive Edition, just like I did for Owlcat's previous game, Wrath of the Righteous.
However, I just stumbled upon a great sale: the base game + the first two DLCs for only €19. Now I'm deeply conflicted.
I have a couple of questions for those who have played it:
- Should I jump in now, or keep waiting for the Definitive Edition?
- What exactly will the next two upcoming DLCs bring to the table? Do we know if they add major gameplay features, new classes, or mechanics, or is it mostly just side stories and companion quests?
Crucial context: I have very limited gaming time these days. Realistically, I will only have the time to play through this game once. I won't be able to do a second playthrough later down the line when the remaining DLCs drop.
Given that info, is the game in a fantastic, complete state right now with the current two DLCs, or will I heavily regret not waiting for the absolute final version for my single playthrough?
Thanks for your advice!
