I need help. Im wanting to eventually start selling my tufted rugs. However, when I skim through etsy they seem impractical and useless(they look cute, but I dont know if they're durable). I mean i want my rugs to be able to be walked on. I know that seems laughable because its literally the entire point of a rug. To look cute and BE USEFUL to my customers. I started tufting with cotton and acrylic, and I was going to sell them with the warning they they should only be in LOW TRAFFIC AREAS. LOW TRAFFIC AREAS! How stupid is that, and qhat even is a 'low traffic area' anyways? Its a rug, a rug is meant to be walked on. So I am here to ask, because I was researching and I just got even more confused. I want to use wool(but not all the time, because its really expensive), but I am not sure what the alternative could be? Could I mix in the different types of yarn? Will that affect the durability of the rug? I dont know what to do. I want to give my customers a rug that they CAN ACTUALLY WALK ON (Perferably without shoes 😅. But will that say something about my rugs of they cant even take their shoes off. Can I do something about that, in terms of rug making?).
