I made the workbench a few years back and here is a link to many pictures during the build, also sorry for a few fuzzy pics but i have a lot that are good quality, The bench was inspired by the Wood Whisperer on you tube, although not the quality of his work but I think it came out pretty good with the exception of the rail on one end separating from the glue joint due to movement even with big lag bolts attached. Here is a work bench I made for my son, the wood is hickory top and bottom with a poplar core and white oak frame and lower shelves. Also the top is floating but so heavy you don't even notice.

I recently made these tables for my daughter, one is walnut with a hickory drawer front, next one is sycamore and the coffee table is maple with a cherry base.
