Life in Australia is depressing
The day I started working my end goal has always been the bare minimum - to own a paid-off house and to be able to afford basics like food.
But every year the cost of food, housing, taxes all keep going up. Things are so expensive that may be Australia is just for politicians, boomers and billionaires? Can't be or want a basic life here.
I thought investing in shares will find me a way out one day, so I've been DCA'ing for years to at least have enough for a deposit on an apartment, but I hear Buckteeth Jim Chalmers just increased taxes on shares setting it to be the highest in the world, so now that goal is out of reach even more.
May be I can leave Australia and move to a country with low cost of living, but there is an exit tax which is punishing and discourages leaving.
