Iranian Zoroastrian calendar

Anyone here know of a Zoroastrian calendar that runs in tandem with, or against, the Iranian one? Basically a digital version of the Gahshomars that we have in Iran!

Bonus question: what would it take to add a Zoroastrian calendar—I hear you asking which one?—to Google calendar?

Language resources incl. Old Avestan

Someone here had asked me about a manual for Old Avestan just like the one I had introduced for Young Avestan. The only modern manual I know of is Oktor Skjærvø's Old Avestan Primer which is freely available. It's a very useful resource even if not always easy to use.

Those who are interested in Iranian languages from a descriptive grammar perspective, might also find Gernot Windfuhr's The Iranian Languages useful.

More traditional Fravahar

Since there seems to be an interest in Fravahar, I created one too. I like the more traditional look. And if anything needs to be added, I feel those elements should be external to the Fravahar itself.

Lacking all design skills, I enlisted the help of AI.

Hand woven Kusti

I'm wondering if anyone has an insight into the art of weaving Kustis in India. Are they still made by hand as demonstrated in some videos on YouTube or have new methods been introduced?

An Introduction to Young Avestan

https://www.harrassowitz-library.com/ebook/view/9783447394727

>Avestan is the sacred language of the Zoroastrians in which they perform most of their rituals. It is known only from its use in the rituals of modern Zoroastrians and the manuscripts reproducing these rituals since the 13th century. Although sure dates cannot be provided, it is very likely that the creation of the liturgical corpus extended from the end of the 2nd millennium BCE until the end of the Achaemenid period (4th cent. BCE). This corpus includes texts in at least three linguistic layers (Old, Middle and Young Avestan). The present manual aims to provide a tool for facilitating the teaching of Young Avestan but keeps in mind also the possibility of self-learning since Avestan is not well-represented in the actual academic landscape. It includes a progressive presentation of the complex phonetic evolutions that are very characteristic of the Avestan language as a consequence of the evolution of the recitation until its fixation (6th cent. CE) and also of the Avestan grammar, complemented with exercises including samples of original texts of increasing difficulty. In each lesson, one text is reproduced in a manuscript, introducing the students to the direct work with manuscripts.

Crossing the scale bar

What happens when / if you cross the pay scale bar? Your pay increases, OK! I am trying to figure out why it is so difficult to negotiate for above the bar, especially if you are very close to crossing it naturally anyway.

I have recently received an offer for a postdoc position at a Russell Group university. They have taken my current grade and increased the scale point by one. A colleague employed elsewhere has suggested I can negotiate the salary. Like my recent question, how common is this in the UK? And if I can, do I negotiate with HR or the PI of the project?

Edit: the offer letter doesn't include a clause about the annual salary increment. Is this normal, perhaps because this is law? Asking as my previous contract did have this saying that it would be once a year.

Many thanks in advance.

Edit: Thank you so much for all these helpful replies. You guys are great. I asked the question as the PI told me to get back to them with questions about salary if I had any.

Hi! Is it customary or even expected in the UK to email the selection committee after an interview to thank them for their time and to express readiness for further discussions? The interview was for a standard Postdoc position.
