Staying in Schaumburg, planning to park at Rosemont Blue Line and take CTA downtown. How is parking availability?
Hello Everyone
I’m traveling to Chicago soon and looking for some local insight on my transit plan.
We are staying at a hotel out in Schaumburg. I can’t stay in downtown due to budget constraints. Our plan is to drive from the hotel to the Rosemont Blue Line station, park the car there, and take the train straight into downtown for sightseeing. We plan to do this on both weekdays and weekends. We aren't planning to stay out late at night downtown, so we'd be heading back to the car around dinner time/early evening.
A few questions for the locals:
How is the parking availability at the Rosemont CTA surface lot on weekdays vs. weekends? Does it get completely jam-packed, or is it usually easy to find a spot?
Is Cumberland a better backup option for parking if Rosemont is full?
Overall, how does this plan sound for a smooth trip into the city?
Appreciate any tips or advice you have. Thanks!
