Repotted - Is this shock or did I do something wrong?

I repotted my syngonium a few days ago and I'm worried this is more than just transplant shock. It was fairly root bound when I got it out of its pot, but I took my time wiggling the roots free. I did trim some of the roots at the very end (I was under the impression this was okay, especially if keeping it in the same pot). I did separate two of the plants carefully to give as a gift. During the transplant, I also put the plant in a chunkier soil (a mix of orchard bark, miracle grow potting soil, and perlite). No fertilizer has been added or used. I expected some drooping and even yellowing, but these leaves look like they're dying and I'm wondering if I did something wrong. Do I wait and see if it bounces back? Or salvage what I can after a few more days? Any help or input is greatly appreciated!
