I built a tool after watching too many candidates copy-paste ChatGPT through our technical screens
I got tired of candidates copy-pasting ChatGPT answers through our screens - so I built something to catch it .
Been talking to a bunch of hiring managers and recruiters lately and the same frustration keeps coming up - candidates are getting really good at gaming technical screens. Memorized answers. ChatGPT responses that sound confident but fall apart the moment you probe deeper. People who ace the screen and can't do the job on day one.
The issue isn't that the questions are bad. It's that nothing actually checks whether the candidate understood their own answer.
So I built HiringShield - a technical assessment tool that scores responses on two things: whether the answer is correct, and whether it reflects genuine reasoning vs. something regurgitated. Candidates get a secure timed link. No tab switching. Answers get scored by AI with a detailed report back to you in minutes.
Still early days and would genuinely love feedback from people who do this for a living - what does your current screening process look like, and is this a problem you actually feel?
Happy to give free access to anyone willing to try it and tell me what's broken.
