The recent AMA was the ultimate reality check. It proved that Arrowhead doesn't care about this community anymore. We tell them exactly what’s broken, we suggest what’s needed to keep the game alive, and they simply don't care.
By far the worst was how Pilestedt pretty much confirmed they aren't working on endgame progression or costumization.
It’s clear now: they don’t see HD2 as a long-term project to be nurtured, they see it as a cashmaker. They are using our support and the Warbond revenue to fund whatever other game they have in the works.
They were handed every advantage a small AA studio could ever dream of on a silver plater:
- Instant worldwide fame.
- Working alongside multi billion dollar studios like Sony and Tencent,
- An incredibly loyal community filled with people willing to defend them threw thick and thin, even threw things like Into the Untested and the whole Coyote drama which that alone would have put other studios under a reviewbomb.
- Huge sales numbers that basically secured their future, not to mention how HD2 skyrockets to Steam's best games by revenue every time they drop a Warbond.
And what do they do with all that goodwill? They ignore us, pocket the money, and shift their effort elsewhere.
I’ll be honest: I hope their next title flops. You don't deserve continued success when you treat the game that put you on the map and the community that built it with this much indifference. Then again, I suspect that they resent HD2 having been a world-wide success with how badly they treat it to begin with.
