How should this be dealt with?

Second picture is the temporary patch. Chicago IL USA

We had a leak in our bathroom ceiling last Saturday 5/16, our landlord found the source Monday (upstairs toilet, not sewage water).

They tore out some of the ceiling in the process, but didn’t do any mold remediation. I said I’m concerned about the mold, and the guy said “that’s not mold, that’s mildew” and “damaged drywall”. When they did their patch, they said they couldn’t cover it back up with a permanent solution yet because “then the ‘mildew’ will get worse” yet there’s no airflow, no fans, they wore no PPE nor did they seal the area when they ripped into the ceiling.

What are my next steps? Right now, I’m waiting on them to tell me when they’re coming back to permanently seal the ceiling, but I fear we need far more than just that.

Also worth noting, one guy told me “not mold, it’s mildew” and another guy on the crew referred to it as mold.

What are our next steps here? Thank you!

Buyback & Payments made during SAVE forbearance

Im at 101 qualifying payments, and 121 months as of May 2026. Should I even apply for buyback, or just keep paying?

Im a little confused whether or not it would even be smart financially for me to do so. If I was making regular payments during the SAVE forbearance as if nothing had change, am I eligible to get those back, or would that be considered in a buyback review?

Thanks in advance! This shit is ridiculous
