So I'm starting to explore the world of self hosted music streaming. I came across the option to turn my nextcloud instance into a music server with a subsonic API. (I am not really self hosting this one, it is a managed instance)
And this works incredibly well for streaming on my computer and phone. However, I would like to also connect my living room speakers to it. The best solution I came up with so far is to use a rapsberry pi with a touch display and run a subsonic client on it. This works, but I always need get up and search for my music on the tiny display to start something.
I spent the better part of a day searching for a solution that lets me remote control the playback with my phone. Is anyone running a similar setup? What are you guys doing?
