Currently working as a scientist and am looking to transition to secondary school teaching of Science subjects. I have a PhD in Chemistry and studied both chemistry and biology in college and would like to be able to teach these subjects. I have previously looked into doing this however the main path seems only to be to complete a 2 year full time Professional Masters in Education (PME) which includes a requirement of 24 weeks of placement. Although I am under no illusion that I would have had to do a course to allow me to go teaching I was hoping to be able to study part time while working which this course would not allow me to do. I was hoping that there might be an alternative part time option available that could be achieved while also working. Has anyone looked into this before and had any luck?
