Vortex is awful and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.
I spent DAYS getting new Vegas to run a few months back. I watched the tutorials, optimized the game and installed all the patchers and necessary mods. I tried playing and it kept crashing, so I investigated what went wrong. Then I fixed all the redundancy issues and other bizarre stuff that showed up and began playing. I had a blast and played for a while, like genuinely loved it. But I took a few weeks off and now vortex has 5 billion notifications about how everything is broken again and now in new ways! Kind of a “but wait there’s more!” except it’s another kick in the junk. I simply don’t care anymore. I’m sick of fighting this program (vortex) that’s supposed to facilitate mods. It sucks at its job and while I’m happy that so many people somehow get it sorted easily, I can’t spend anymore time in here or YouTube with people telling me “it’s not that hard and you only need basic computer knowledge honestly” only to have to do hours of research to adjust settings. I’m done, at least for a while. All I can say is I wish that people told me earlier how busted and genuinely unhelpful vortex is. I’m happy for you if you could play and it makes sense for you, but most of us aren’t able to. Which sucks because I played enough to really see how great it can be and that it deserves so much more…
