Putting Georgia Tech on your LinkedIn helps

I recently posted about how much OMSCS Georgia Tech changed my life. Since then I have received a lot of DMs and questions from other students, and I’ve tried to get through as many as I could.

One of the most FAQ: did Georgia Tech on your resume help?

Yes, it definitely made a difference, on LinkedIn for sure.

Since adding Georgia Tech to my headline, I often get DMs from recruiters of big name companies. Apple, Roblox, Notion, Nvidia, Walmart and Grok to name a few. 2 have led to interviews.

While I can’t be sure they’re all due to Georgia Tech in the headline, I know at least some, like Roblox, are. They will explicitly mention the campus. I would highly recommend mentioning your MSCS @ Georgia Tech wherever you can.

Amazon return offer chances

Hi, I am currently interning at Amazon as an SDE. I am in my last year before graduation so I am very stressed.

Has anyone interned at Amazon before? So far, my performance has been decent and my manager has been leaning towards inclined. I’m still worried that somehow the return offer won’t come through, whether headcount, job cuts or some other unfortunate circumstance.

If anyone has interned at Amazon before, can you let me know what my chances are of a full time return offer? If my manager says yes, is that almost a guarantee of an offer or is there still a big chance of no offer due to upper management?

Georgia Tech OMSCS saved my life

I graduated with my bachelors in CS from a T30 school in 2024. I only had 1 internship during my undergrad and it was a startup that failed anyway.

After graduation, I could not find a job anywhere in the field. I ended up working as a hotel clerk for 2 years. This was the most depressing point in my life. I felt like a failure and a waste of my parents’ money. I was a waste of everyone’s effort in my life. I was not good enough.

In 2025, I saw a LinkedIn post about OMSCS. I don’t know why but I decided to apply. I started to do courses while working as a hotel clerk.

One year later I am currently interning at Amazon in Seattle as a software development engineer and nearing close of my term. My manager has repeatedly told me that he’s impressed with my work and will be approving the RO for full time. Even if this opportunity falls out, I know I can make it as a SWE and I have my passion again to be someone.

If anyone else was in similar shoes or is currently thinking about applying, I highly recommend it. It pulled me out of a dark place. Thank you Georgia Tech.
